The St Stephen’s Choir of Men & Boys, under the direction of Adric, will present a traditional Festival of Lessons & Carols for Epiphany. Through scripture readings, carols and beloved hymns, the service celebrates the joy of Christmastide and the revelation of Jesus to humanity.

This year’s musical selections will include Harold Darke’s In the bleak mid-winter, Herbert Howells’ Here is the little door, John Gardner’s Tomorrow shall be my dancing day, John Rutter’s hauntingly beautiful setting of Dormi, Jesu, and other works by Ledger, Cleobury, Skempton, Huw Williams, and Adric.

The Carol Service begins at 6.00 PM and generally lasts between 60 and 75 minutes. Visitors from all faith traditions are always heartily welcomed to join us in prayer, and all are invited to remain for a light reception directly following the service. Admission is free of charge, however a freewill offering will be received in support of the choir’s charity: Dr Bob’s Place, a hospice for children.
